EVENTS, NEWS, CONFERENCES

Dr. Kálmán Kulcsár, academician, reserach professor of IPS HAS deceased on 4 September, at the age of 82.

Larissa Yurasova, Senior Research Fellow at the Russian Strategic Research Institute is working at IPS HAS between 1–30 September as guest researcher. Her main research field is the changes of Hungarian elite groups after the political system change.

Imre Kovách and Bernadett Csurgó participates in the opening meeting of the project Lagging behind or LEADER in Local Democracy? at the Swedish School for Social Sciences (University of Helsinki) between 29 August and 1 September.

János Simon will give papers on 1-4 July on democracy in Hungary at the 9th Summer University in Kishegyes, Voivodina (Serbia), and he will participate at the Summer University in Tusnádfürdő (Romania) between 20 and 25 July.

Hortenzia Hosszú was invited to the EU-CHINA Science and Technology Week in Shanghaj between 15-18 June. On 16 June she lead the panel Globalization impacts on politics of the EU-China STF Networking Event a World in Shanghai Science Hall.

Ferenc Miszlivetz and Jody Jensen will participate at the Society – Mobility and complexity in a European space symposium of the conference The European Trial in Barcelona, at the panel Multiple times and spaces: Complexity, Mobility, Territory, between17-18 June.

András Körösényi was invited by Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (German Institute for International and Security Affairs) and Henrich Böll Stiftung to participate at a professional forum in Berlin, called Elections in Central Eastern Europe: Domestic and Foreign Policy Implications.

Hortenzia Hosszú performs studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences between June 2010 and June 2012 within the framwork of the EU-China Science and Technology Fellowship Programme (STF2).
